Canopies & Shelters Ltd designs, manufactures and installs permanentcommercial canopies andschool and playground canopies, covered walkways, entrance canopies and cycle shelters, working nationwide from a base in Rainford, St Helens. We design, make and fit in-house, so one team is accountable from the first drawing to the finished, signed-off structure.

One firm, from the drawing to the sign-off
Most canopy suppliers coordinate a chain of subcontractors. We do the four stages ourselves, which is why the structure that gets installed is the one that was drawn.
We design it
Our design department turns your site plan, survey or rough sketch into scaled CAD drawings and a specification. This is the detail a specifier, architect or procurement team needs to tender the work and take it through building control.
We make it
The frame is fabricated in our own UK workshops from powder-coated steel, finished to any RAL colour, and roofed in water-resistant polycarbonate or tensioned fabric. Because we manufacture it ourselves, the structure is engineered to the exact span and site rather than cut down from a standard kit.
We install it
Our own installation teams handle the groundworks, frame and roof across England, Scotland and Wales. On school sites we work around term times and site constraints, and we hand over a finished, signed-off structure.
We maintain it
We service and repair the canopies we build to keep them safe and weather-tight, which extends the working life of the structure long after handover.

Canopies & Shelters is a family-run business. The same people who take your enquiry are the ones who design the canopy and stand behind the install.
Thomas Dreha
Founder
Thomas, known as Tommy, incorporated Canopies & Shelters Ltd in July 2023 and set up the workshop and installation side of the business. He leads the making: the fabrication of the powder-coated steel frames and the site installs that the design work is drawn up for.
Diane Dreha
Director
Diane has been the company director since April 2024, appointed as the business grew from its first installs into a nationwide manufacturer and installer. She runs the company end to end, from the first enquiry and design brief through to the finished, signed-off structure.
Engineered, made and installed to standard
We design in-house, manufacture in our own UK workshops and install with our own teams. One firm is accountable for the structure from the first drawing to the signed-off finish, so there is no chain of subcontractors to coordinate or chase.
Every canopy is drawn in CAD and comes with structural calculations for building control, school governors or a procurement team. The frame is powder-coated steel in any RAL colour, roofed in polycarbonate or tensioned fabric to suit the span and the site.
